Plakat Bettas are a lesser-known version of the famed Betta Fish (Betta splendens). These fish are much closer in appearance to their wild counterparts, sporting a less dramatic tail and more robust built. But make no mistake: Plakat Bettas are still in high demand!

These fish are predominantly used for fighting. While controversial in other parts of the world, fish-fighting is permitted in many Southeast Asian countries. Plakat Bettas are the preferred fighters, as their stout builds are more capable than the traditional Betta fish’s delicate body.

In the western world, Plakat Bettas are nothing more than pets! Like standard varieties, they are gorgeous fish with distinct personalities.

We operate a UK wide next day delivery service available through DX overnight, a DEFRA registered courier. All our fish are packed in double thickness bags for safety and filled with pure oxygen. The bags are then wrapped in a foil blanket with heat packs to keep them warm. They are then packed in a large polystyrene box with a cardboard outer. All our fish are booked with the courier as “live fish” and travel in security cages throughout their journey. All fish are only in the box for a maximum of 18 hours which is our service level agreement with the courier. Your delivery date will be communicated to you via email within 24 hours of purchase and your tracking information will be sent to you directly via email by DX the evening before your scheduled delivery date. Please contact us if you would like to change your delivery date to a more convenient time. Deliveries are made on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday every week. We will always try our very best to get your order to you as quickly and as safely as possible.
