Description
The vibrantly coloured Red Mouthbrooder Severum is a recently described species from the Orinoco and Atabapo river drainages in Colombia and Venezuela. Adult fish in breeding condition colour up to a deep reddish-pink and are easily the most attractive of the wild forms of Severum. Relatively easy to breed in aquaria, as the name implies this species is a mouthbrooder which exhibits strong parental care
