Overview: The Mottled Upside Down Catfish, Synodontis nigriventris, is a distinctive and fascinating species known for its unique habit of swimming upside down. This small, peaceful catfish reaches an adult size of about 4 inches, making it an ideal choice for community aquariums. Its mottled brown and cream coloration allows it to blend seamlessly into a variety of aquarium settings.

Origin: Native to the freshwater rivers and floodplains of Central Africa, particularly in the Congo Basin, this species thrives in environments with plenty of hiding spots and a soft, sandy substrate.

Feeding: Omnivorous by nature, the Mottled Upside Down Catfish is not a picky eater. A diet of high-quality sinking pellets or wafers, supplemented with live or frozen foods such as bloodworms and brine shrimp, will ensure optimal health and coloration.

We operate a UK wide next day delivery service available through DX overnight, a DEFRA registered courier. All our fish are packed in double thickness bags for safety and filled with pure oxygen. The bags are then wrapped in a foil blanket with heat packs to keep them warm. They are then packed in a large polystyrene box with a cardboard outer. All our fish are booked with the courier as “live fish” and travel in security cages throughout their journey. All fish are only in the box for a maximum of 18 hours which is our service level agreement with the courier. Your delivery date will be communicated to you via email within 24 hours of purchase and your tracking information will be sent to you directly via email by DX the evening before your scheduled delivery date. Please contact us if you would like to change your delivery date to a more convenient time. Deliveries are made on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday every week. We will always try our very best to get your order to you as quickly and as safely as possible.
