Overview: The L183 Starlight White Seam Pleco, also known as the Starlight Bristlenose Pleco, is a captivating and sought-after freshwater fish, cherished for its striking black body contrasted with brilliant white seams along its fins and tail. This small-sized pleco, reaching up to 4-5 inches in length, is not only admired for its beauty but also for its role as an efficient algae eater in aquariums.

Origin: Native to the fast-flowing, clear waters of the Amazon River Basin in South America, the L183 thrives in environments with plenty of hiding spots and a strong current.

Feeding: Primarily an herbivore, the L183 Starlight White Seam Pleco has a diet that should be rich in vegetable-based foods. Algae wafers, blanched vegetables (such as zucchini, cucumbers, and spinach), and driftwood (for natural grazing) form the cornerstone of their diet. Occasional protein in the form of bloodworms or brine shrimp can be offered sparingly.

Tank Mates: Peaceful by nature, these plecos do well with a variety of tank mates. Ideal companions include small to medium-sized tetras, rasboras, and other peaceful community fish. Avoid housing them with large, aggressive species.

Aggression: L183 Starlight White Seam Plecos are generally peaceful and solitary. However, they can display territorial behavior towards other bottom-dwellers, especially of their kind, so it’s advisable to provide ample space and hiding spots if keeping multiple specimens.

Experience Level: Suited for intermediate to advanced aquarists. Their specific dietary needs and requirement for pristine water conditions demand a bit more attention than the average aquarium fish.

We operate a UK wide next day delivery service available through DX overnight, a DEFRA registered courier. All our fish are packed in double thickness bags for safety and filled with pure oxygen. The bags are then wrapped in a foil blanket with heat packs to keep them warm. They are then packed in a large polystyrene box with a cardboard outer. All our fish are booked with the courier as “live fish” and travel in security cages throughout their journey. All fish are only in the box for a maximum of 18 hours which is our service level agreement with the courier. Your delivery date will be communicated to you via email within 24 hours of purchase and your tracking information will be sent to you directly via email by DX the evening before your scheduled delivery date. Please contact us if you would like to change your delivery date to a more convenient time. Deliveries are made on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday every week. We will always try our very best to get your order to you as quickly and as safely as possible.
