Origin: Native to the Amazon Basin and its tributaries in South America, the Leopard Sail Fin Pleco thrives in a variety of freshwater environments. They are well-adapted to both fast-flowing streams and the still waters of flooded forest areas.

Feeding: Primarily herbivorous, the Leopard Sail Fin Pleco requires a diet rich in plant-based foods. Offer a variety of algae wafers, vegetables (such as zucchini, cucumber, and peas), and occasional high-quality sinking pellets. They are also efficient algae cleaners, helping to keep the aquarium glass and decorations free from algae growth.

Tank Mates: Due to their peaceful nature, Leopard Sail Fin Plecos can be kept with a wide range of tank mates. They do well with most community fish, including tetras, guppies, and corydoras. However, due to their size, it is essential to avoid very small fish that might be intimidated or outcompeted for food.

We operate a UK wide next day delivery service available through DX overnight, a DEFRA registered courier. All our fish are packed in double thickness bags for safety and filled with pure oxygen. The bags are then wrapped in a foil blanket with heat packs to keep them warm. They are then packed in a large polystyrene box with a cardboard outer. All our fish are booked with the courier as “live fish” and travel in security cages throughout their journey. All fish are only in the box for a maximum of 18 hours which is our service level agreement with the courier. Your delivery date will be communicated to you via email within 24 hours of purchase and your tracking information will be sent to you directly via email by DX the evening before your scheduled delivery date. Please contact us if you would like to change your delivery date to a more convenient time. Deliveries are made on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday every week. We will always try our very best to get your order to you as quickly and as safely as possible.
