Strawberry Horned Frog Ceratophrys Cranwelli

Overview: Strawberry Horned Frogs are known for their striking appearance, featuring a mesmerizing combination of vibrant red and green hues. With their distinctive horn-like projections, these frogs boast a unique charm that appeals to both beginners and experienced amphibian enthusiasts.

Origin: Native to the subtropical and tropical regions of Argentina, these frogs thrive in humid environments. Their natural habitats include marshes, ponds, and rainforests, making them well-suited for a carefully crafted terrarium.

Feeding: These voracious eaters have a hearty appetite for a diet consisting mainly of appropriately sized insects. From crickets to mealworms, providing a varied diet ensures the optimal health and well-being of your Strawberry Horned Frog.

Tank Mates: Due to their solitary and opportunistic nature, it is recommended to house Strawberry Horned Frogs individually. Tank mates may become unintended meals, as these frogs are ambush predators with a swift striking ability.

Aggression: While not overly aggressive, these frogs are known for their voracious feeding habits. Caution should be exercised when introducing food to avoid accidental bites during feeding time.

Experience Level: Ideal for both novice and experienced amphibian keepers, the Strawberry Horned Frog is relatively easy to care for. Regular monitoring of humidity levels, temperature, and a proper diet are key components of successful care.

Water Parameters: Maintaining a consistently high humidity level of 70-80% is crucial for these frogs. Additionally, a shallow water dish should be provided for soaking, as they may absorb water through their skin.
