Yellow Tail Purple Sailfin Tang Zebrasoma Xanthurum

The Yellowtail Purple Sailfin Tang (Zebrasoma xanthurum) is a striking marine fish with a deep purple-blue body, bright yellow tail, and yellow accents on the pectoral fins. It is endemic to the northwestern Indian Ocean, found in the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, and around the Arabian Peninsula into the Persian Gulf. This herbivorous fish grazes on filamentous algae during the day, following a pattern of feeding individually or in pairs. They require a large aquarium of at least 75 gallons with plenty of swimming space and hiding spots, as they can be aggressive towards other tangs of similar body shape. Proper water parameters are crucial, with a specific gravity of 1.020-1.025 and temperature of 72-78°F. This fish is recommended for experienced aquarists due to its sensitivity to water quality and potential aggression. Overall, the Yellowtail Purple Sailfin Tang is a beautiful and rewarding addition to a large reef or fish-only aquarium when provided with the right care.

We operate a UK wide next day delivery service available through DX overnight, a DEFRA registered courier. All our fish are packed in double thickness bags for safety and filled with pure oxygen. The bags are then wrapped in a foil blanket with heat packs to keep them warm. They are then packed in a large polystyrene box with a cardboard outer. All our fish are booked with the courier as “live fish” and travel in security cages throughout their journey. All fish are only in the box for a maximum of 18 hours which is our service level agreement with the courier. Your delivery date will be communicated to you via email within 24 hours of purchase and your tracking information will be sent to you directly via email by DX the evening before your scheduled delivery date. Please contact us if you would like to change your delivery date to a more convenient time. Deliveries are made on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday every week. We will always try our very best to get your order to you as quickly and as safely as possible.
