Asian Rummynose Rasbora Sawbwa Replendens 2cm

Overview: The Asian Rummynose Rasbora, scientifically known as Sawbwa resplendens, is a small and stunning freshwater fish celebrated for its vivid colors. Males display a brilliant combination of silver bodies with bright red noses and blue accents, while females are more subdued but still attractive. These active and peaceful schooling fish bring a dynamic splash of color to any aquarium.

Origin: Native to the cool, clear waters of Lake Inle in Myanmar (Burma), the Asian Rummynose Rasbora thrives in environments with plenty of vegetation and open swimming space. Their natural habitat consists of shallow, well-oxygenated waters with a gentle flow.

Feeding: These rasboras are omnivorous and have a preference for small, live or frozen foods. A balanced diet should include high-quality micro pellets, crushed flakes, and live or frozen foods like daphnia, brine shrimp, and mosquito larvae. Providing a varied diet will help maintain their vibrant colors and overall health.

Tank Mates: The Asian Rummynose Rasbora is peaceful and does well in a community tank with other small, non-aggressive species. Ideal tank mates include other small rasboras, tetras, peaceful barbs, and dwarf cichlids. They thrive when kept in groups of six or more, as they are a schooling species and feel more secure in numbers.

Aggression: These rasboras are peaceful and non-aggressive, making them suitable for community tanks. However, they can be timid, so they should be housed with similarly peaceful tank mates to avoid stress.

Experience Level: Beginner. The Asian Rummynose Rasbora is a hardy species that adapts well to a range of tank conditions, making it a great choice for novice aquarists. Its manageable care requirements and peaceful nature make it an excellent addition to any community aquarium.

Water Parameters: To keep Asian Rummynose Rasboras healthy, maintain water temperatures between 68-75°F (20-24°C), a pH of 6.5-7.5, and soft to moderately hard water (5-12 dGH). A well-planted tank with open swimming areas, moderate water flow, and consistent water quality is ideal for replicating their natural environment.

In summary, the Asian Rummynose Rasbora is a colorful, peaceful, and active schooling fish that adds beauty and life to any aquarium. Its ease of care and compatibility with other small, peaceful species make it an excellent choice for both beginner and experienced aquarists.
