Description

Flowerhorn Cichlid – Super Red Kamfa

Overview:
The Super Red Kamfa Flowerhorn is a premium show-quality cichlid, prized for its intense, uniform red coloration, full-body pearling, and distinctive Kamfa head structure with short, rounded fins. Known for its bold, interactive personality, this strain is a striking centerpiece for any Flowerhorn enthusiast.

Origin:
Bred from Kamfa lines in Southeast Asia, selectively developed for deep red hues, pearling density, and prominent kok formation.

Feeding:

  • Staple: High-quality Flowerhorn pellets for growth, coloration, and health.

  • Supplements: Freeze-dried shrimp, krill, bloodworms, and spirulina-based foods to enhance vibrant red coloration and pearling.

  • Routine: Feed 2–3 times daily in controlled portions to prevent overfeeding.

Tank Mates:

  • Best kept alone due to highly territorial nature.

  • Can cohabit with other large, aggressive cichlids only in partitioned tanks.

Aggression:
Extremely territorial and dominant. Thrives as a solitary display fish.

Experience Level:
Intermediate to Advanced. Recommended for aquarists familiar with large, aggressive Flowerhorn cichlids.

Water Parameters:

  • Temperature: 78–84°F (25–29°C)

  • pH: 7.4–8.0

  • Hardness: 8–20 dGH

  • Minimum Tank Size: 75 gallons (single specimen)

Unique Features:

  • Coloration: Intense, uniform red across the body with shimmering pearling.

  • Kok Development: Prominent nuchal hump with Kamfa-style short, rounded fins.

  • Body Form: Muscular, symmetrical, and visually striking.

  • Collectability: Highly sought after for deep red intensity, pearling, and Kamfa characteristics.

The Super Red Kamfa Flowerhorn is a top-tier centerpiece fish, combining luxurious red coloration, full pearling, and a majestic Kamfa kok, making it ideal for serious collectors and Flowerhorn enthusiasts.
