What We Like About This Animal:
- Very unique appearance and behaviour
- Excellent addition to any predator aquarium
- Impressive, but manageable size
- Active and feeding time is awesome
One of the most distinctively marked, colourful, and sought after of the Peacock Bass, the Brokopondo Peacock Bass is found only in the waters around Suriname’s Lake Brokopondo. Although currently considered a form of Cichla Ocellaris, it is likely that the Brokopondo variant may be a distinct species. Like all Cichla, they are large, powerful, predatory fish and should be kept by experienced aquarists with suitably large aquariums to house these fish as adults.
Diet: The Brokopondo is a Predator and live fish eater, so some feeder fish will be required. They will also typically accept frozen foods and pellets once trained.
