In the aquarium, it will graze on algae growing on live rock and can also be fed dried seaweed, spirulina, and other vegetable-based foods. This species is generally peaceful but can be semi-aggressive towards other tangs and fish with similar body shapes. It is recommended to introduce the Scopas Tang last to the aquarium and avoid keeping it with other Zebrasoma tangs, as they may establish a territorial hierarchy. The Scopas Tang requires a well-established aquarium of at least 125 gallons with ample swimming space, live rock, and hiding spots. It is suitable for most reef aquariums and is considered reef-safe.
