Description
Cherry Red Shrimp Neocaridina Davidi 2cm
“Cherry Red Shrimp (Neocaridina davidi) are delightful freshwater invertebrates known for their vibrant cherry-red coloration, making them a captivating addition to planted aquariums. Originating from Taiwan, these hardy shrimp thrive in peaceful, well-established tanks with stable water conditions.
Feeding on biofilm, algae, and commercial shrimp pellets, Cherry Reds are omnivores that eagerly accept blanched vegetables like zucchini or spinach. They contribute to the aquarium ecosystem by grazing on algae, aiding in tank cleanliness.
Ideal tank mates include small, non-aggressive fish like small Rasboras, Corydoras, or Otocinclus catfish. Avoid housing them with larger or aggressive species that may prey on or stress the shrimp.
Known for their non-aggressive nature, Cherry Reds display minimal aggression amongst themselves and cohabit peacefully if provided adequate hiding spots within plants or moss.
Perfect for aquarists of all levels, these shrimp are relatively easy to care for, requiring stable water parameters: pH 6.5-7.5, temperature 65-80°F (18-27°C), and moderately hard water. Regular water changes and a well-maintained environment ensure their health and longevity in the aquarium.”
