Description
Corydoras Habrosus 3cm Catfish
Overview: The Corydoras Habrosus, also known as the Dwarf Corydoras or Pygmy Cory, is a small, peaceful freshwater fish. It’s a popular choice among aquarists for its charming appearance and bottom-dwelling habits. This species typically reaches about 1 to 1.5 inches in length and is characterized by its silver body with dark markings.
Origin: Native to South America, Corydoras Habrosus is primarily found in Venezuela and Colombia. They inhabit slow-moving streams and rivers, thriving in soft, acidic water with abundant vegetation.
Feeding: Omnivorous by nature, Corydoras Habrosus accepts a wide variety of foods. Their diet should include high-quality sinking pellets or granules, along with occasional servings of live or frozen foods such as bloodworms, daphnia, and brine shrimp. It’s important to ensure food reaches the bottom of the tank, as they are bottom feeders.
Tank Mates: Dwarf Corydoras are community-friendly and do well with other peaceful, small fish. Ideal tank mates include small tetras, rasboras, and other non-aggressive species. They prefer to be in groups, so keeping them in schools of at least 6-10 individuals will make them more comfortable and active.
Aggression: This species is known for its peaceful and non-aggressive behavior. They are not territorial and coexist harmoniously with other community fish.
Experience Level: Corydoras Habrosus is suitable for both beginner and experienced aquarists. They are hardy and relatively easy to care for, making them a great choice for those new to fishkeeping.
