Corydoras Robineae 4cm Catfish

Overview: The Corydoras Robineae, also known as the Robine’s Cory, is a captivating and peaceful freshwater fish. Known for its striking appearance, this species features a charming pattern of black and white markings, making it a beautiful addition to any aquarium. Reaching a maximum size of approximately 2.5 inches, these small bottom dwellers are perfect for community tanks.

Origin: Native to South America, particularly in the rivers of Venezuela and Colombia, the Corydoras Robineae thrives in soft, slightly acidic water conditions found in their natural habitat. Their adaptability, however, makes them suitable for a variety of aquarium setups.

Feeding: Omnivorous by nature, the Corydoras Robineae is not a picky eater. A balanced diet including high-quality sinking pellets, flake foods, and occasional offerings of live or frozen foods like brine shrimp or bloodworms will keep them healthy and happy. It’s important to ensure food reaches the bottom of the tank where they feed.

Tank Mates: These Corydoras are known for their peaceful and sociable behavior, making them excellent tank mates for other non-aggressive fish. They do well with small to medium-sized tetras, rasboras, and other peaceful community fish. Avoid keeping them with large or aggressive species.

Aggression: The Corydoras Robineae is a remarkably peaceful species. They show no aggressive tendencies towards other tank inhabitants and are often seen actively exploring the tank bottom or resting in groups.

Experience Level: Suitable for beginners and experienced aquarists alike, these fish are relatively easy to care for. Their hardy nature and adaptability to different water conditions make them a great choice for those new to fishkeeping.

Water Parameters: Ideal water conditions for the Corydoras Robineae include a temperature range of 72-79°F (22-26°C), a pH of 6.0-7.5, and soft to moderately hard water. Regular water changes and good filtration are essential to maintain these parameters and ensure a healthy environment for your fish.

Regular monitoring of water quality and maintaining a stable environment are key to the wellbeing of these delightful fish, making them a joyful addition to any freshwater aquarium.
