Doitsu Utsuri Butterfly Grade A Koi Carp (Cyprinus carpio)

Overview:
The Doitsu Utsuri Butterfly Grade A Koi is a striking ornamental koi featuring bold black and white patterning across a sleek, scaleless body. Its dramatic contrast, combined with long, flowing butterfly fins, creates a powerful visual presence in any premium koi pond.

Origin:
Originating from Japan, the Doitsu Utsuri belongs to the Utsurimono family, known for strong color contrast and pattern balance. This Grade A specimen has been selectively bred for clean pattern separation, vibrant coloration, and refined finnage.

Feeding:
Omnivorous. Feed high-quality, color-enhancing koi pellets as a staple, supplemented with vegetables, shrimp, or seasonal treats. Feed 1–2 times daily during warmer months.

Tank / Pond Mates:
Peaceful and social. Best kept with other koi or calm, similarly sized pond fish such as goldfish.

Temperament / Aggression:
Very peaceful and non-aggressive, making it ideal for mixed koi ponds.

Experience Level:
Beginner to advanced. Hardy and adaptable, though optimal water quality, filtration, and space are essential to maintain Grade A quality.

  • Temperature: 10–25°C (50–77°F)

  • pH: 6.5–8.5
