Eheim MECH mechanical filter media
Eheim MECH is a mechanical filter media which is extremely efficient at trapping coarse dirt particles. It is made of ceramic hollow bodies which is easy to clean and reusable. Suitable for use in most external canister, sump, and some internal filters.
As the water enters the filtration cycle, water is swirled through the ceramic hollow ceramic rings, and the larger dirt particles then sink to the bottom. The water then continues its way through the other filter layers.
Along with being able to trap coarse dirt particles, the surface structure also allows for the colonisation of friendly bacteria, providing a biological filtering process.
This high-quality ceramic media is reusable, and allows for easy, residue free cleaning. MECH is ideally suited to be used in combination with Eheim SUBSTRATpro or BioMECH.
Eheim MECH is completely water neutral and is suitable for both freshwater and saltwater filters.

We operate a UK wide next day delivery service available through DX overnight, a DEFRA registered courier. All our fish are packed in double thickness bags for safety and filled with pure oxygen. The bags are then wrapped in a foil blanket with heat packs to keep them warm. They are then packed in a large polystyrene box with a cardboard outer. All our fish are booked with the courier as “live fish” and travel in security cages throughout their journey. All fish are only in the box for a maximum of 18 hours which is our service level agreement with the courier. Your delivery date will be communicated to you via email within 24 hours of purchase and your tracking information will be sent to you directly via email by DX the evening before your scheduled delivery date. Please contact us if you would like to change your delivery date to a more convenient time. Deliveries are made on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday every week. We will always try our very best to get your order to you as quickly and as safely as possible.
