The heart of a filter is its filter sponges: Filter sponges not only complete classic filtration, but also offer the smallest bacteria a lot of living space. This biological oasis in the filter sponges ensures that the toxins produced in the pond are converted: In the blue sponges toxic substances are converted into harmless algae stimulating substances (nitrification), which in turn are converted into naturally occurring gases in the red sponges (denitrification).
STANDARD UK DELIVERY COST IS FIXED AT £20 FOR ANY NUMBER OF FISH PER ORDER INSURED UK DELIVERY COST IS FIXED AT £30 FOR ANY NUMBER OF FISH PER ORDER We operate a UK wide next day delivery service available through DX overnight, a DEFRA registered courier. All our fish are packed in double thickness bags for safety and filled with pure oxygen. The bags are then wrapped in a foil blanket with heat packs to keep them warm. They are then packed in a large polystyrene box with a cardboard outer. All our fish are booked with the courier as “live fish” and travel in security cages throughout their journey. All fish are only in the box for a maximum of 18 hours which is our service level agreement with the courier. Your delivery date will be communicated to you via email within 24 hours of purchase and your tracking information will be sent to you directly via email by DX the evening before your scheduled delivery date. Please contact us if you would like to change your delivery date to a more convenient time. Deliveries are made on Wednesday and Thursday every week.
