Overview: The Bacopa Plant, scientifically known as Bacopa caroliniana, is a popular aquatic plant known for its vibrant green leaves and ease of care. This hardy stem plant is ideal for both beginners and experienced aquarists, providing a lush backdrop or mid-ground feature in freshwater aquariums. The leaves emit a pleasant lemony scent when crushed, adding to its charm.

Origin: Native to the southeastern United States, Bacopa caroliniana naturally grows in slow-moving rivers, ponds, and wetlands. It thrives in warm, humid environments and is well-suited for various aquatic settings.

Experience Level: Beginner. Bacopa caroliniana is very forgiving and adaptable, making it an excellent choice for aquarists of all experience levels. It grows well in a wide range of conditions and requires minimal maintenance.

Water Parameters: The Bacopa Plant prefers a temperature range of 68-82°F (20-28°C), a pH of 6.0-7.5, and soft to moderately hard water. It thrives under moderate to high lighting, which encourages compact growth and vibrant leaf color. CO2 supplementation is beneficial but not necessary. Regular trimming is recommended to maintain its shape and prevent the plant from overshadowing other aquarium inhabitants.
