  • Supplements: Shrimp, krill, bloodworms, and spirulina-based foods for vibrant red and pearling development.

  • Routine: Feed 2–3 times daily in small portions.

Tank Mates:

  • Best kept alone due to high territorial aggression.

  • Can only be housed with other large, aggressive cichlids in separate or divided setups.

Aggression:
Extremely territorial and dominant. This fish thrives as a solitary showpiece.

Experience Level:
Intermediate to Advanced. Suitable for aquarists experienced with large, aggressive cichlids.

Unique Features:

  • Coloration: Bold, fiery red base with uniform pearling.

  • Pearling: Dense, full-body pearls creating a shimmering, “starry” effect.

  • Kok Development: Prominent, rounded Monkey/Malau-style head hump.

  • Body Form: Thick, muscular, and balanced with well-proportioned fins.

  • Collectability: Highly prized for competitions and premium collections.
