Description

Overview:
The Golden Dwarf Angelfish is a rare and exquisitely beautiful species, featuring a rich golden-orange body marked with fine vertical blue lines. Small and secretive by nature, this shy yet striking angelfish is a prized addition for collectors and advanced aquarists seeking something truly unique.
Origin:
Native to the deep reef slopes and rubble zones of the Western Pacific, particularly around Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands, Centropyge aurantia is often found hiding among coral crevices and rocky outcrops.
Feeding:
This species can be finicky at first but accepts a varied omnivorous diet once acclimated. Offer high-quality marine pellets or flakes, supplemented with frozen foods like mysis shrimp, finely chopped seafood, and marine algae or spirulina to maintain health and coloration.
Tank Mates:
Best suited to peaceful community tanks, the Golden Dwarf Angelfish should not be housed with aggressive or overly active species. Due to its timid nature, tank mates should be calm and non-threatening. Avoid keeping it with other dwarf angelfish unless in a very large system with ample hiding places.
Water Parameters:
Temperature: 74–80°F (23–27°C)
pH: 8.1–8.4
Salinity: 1.020–1.025 SG
Minimum Tank Size: 30 gallons (larger preferred for established territories)
Reef Compatibility:
Reef-safe with caution. Like many dwarf angelfish, it may nip at soft corals, LPS, and clam mantles, especially if underfed or stressed.
A true gem of the reef, the Golden Dwarf Angelfish is an elusive and captivating species that brings subtle elegance and rare beauty to well-maintained marine aquariums. Ideal for experienced hobbyists with a patient approach and a peaceful tank setup.
