Overview: The L27c Golden Line Royal Pleco, scientifically known as Panaque ambrusteri Jamanxim, is a stunning and sought-after species in the aquarium hobby, cherished for its unique golden stripes against a dark body. This large and robust pleco can reach lengths of up to 15-20 inches, making it a striking centerpiece for suitable aquariums.

Origin: Native to the fast-flowing, oxygen-rich rivers and tributaries of the Amazon Basin in South America, particularly around the Jamanxim River, this pleco is adapted to environments with strong currents and plenty of hiding spots.

Feeding: Primarily herbivorous, the Golden Line Royal Pleco has a diet consisting mostly of wood, algae, and vegetable matter. Supplementing with high-quality pleco tablets, fresh vegetables, and occasional protein sources will ensure they receive all necessary nutrients.

Tank Mates: Compatible with many large and peaceful fish species, as well as smaller, non-aggressive community fish. Ideal tank mates include South American cichlids, tetras, and other plecos that do not compete aggressively for territory or food. Avoid overly aggressive species that may harass or outcompete them for food.

Aggression: Generally peaceful towards other species, but may show territorial behavior towards other bottom dwellers, especially other males of its kind. Provide ample space and hiding spots to minimize aggression.

We operate a UK wide next day delivery service available through DX overnight, a DEFRA registered courier. All our fish are packed in double thickness bags for safety and filled with pure oxygen. The bags are then wrapped in a foil blanket with heat packs to keep them warm. They are then packed in a large polystyrene box with a cardboard outer. All our fish are booked with the courier as “live fish” and travel in security cages throughout their journey. All fish are only in the box for a maximum of 18 hours which is our service level agreement with the courier. Your delivery date will be communicated to you via email within 24 hours of purchase and your tracking information will be sent to you directly via email by DX the evening before your scheduled delivery date. Please contact us if you would like to change your delivery date to a more convenient time. Deliveries are made on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday every week. We will always try our very best to get your order to you as quickly and as safely as possible.
