Metynis Spotted Silver Dollar Metynnis Lippincotianu 5cm

Overview: The Metynnis Spotted Silver Dollar, scientifically known as Metynnis lippincottianus, captivates with its stunning silver body adorned with distinctive black spots. Originating from South America, this freshwater species adds elegance to any sizable aquarium.

Origin: Native to the Amazon River Basin in South America, these fish thrive in warm, soft waters abundant with vegetation.

Feeding: Omnivorous by nature, they relish a varied diet comprising high-quality flakes, pellets, and occasional live or frozen foods like bloodworms or brine shrimp. Incorporating vegetables like blanched spinach or zucchini is beneficial.

Tank Mates: These peaceful schooling fish harmonize well with other non-aggressive species of similar size, such as tetras, peaceful cichlids, and larger peaceful catfish. Avoid pairing them with fin-nipping or aggressive tankmates.

Aggression: They exhibit minimal aggression, making them an excellent addition to community aquariums. However, ensure adequate space to reduce territorial disputes.

Experience Level: Intermediate: Their requirements for water quality and space demand some experience in maintaining a stable aquarium environment.

Water Parameters: Maintain water temperatures between 75-82°F (24-28°C), a pH range of 6.0-7.5, and moderately soft to slightly hard water (4-12 dKH).
