Overview: The Normans Lampeye Killifish, also known as the Norman’s Lampeye or simply Lampeye, is a captivating small freshwater fish known for its vibrant blue eyes that seem to glow under the right aquarium lighting. Origin: Native to the freshwater streams and pools of West Africa, specifically Cameroon and Nigeria, the Normans Lampeye Killifish thrives in environments with plenty of vegetation and a gentle flow. They are accustomed to warm, slightly acidic to neutral waters.
Feeding: Lampeyes are omnivores with a preference for small live or frozen foods such as brine shrimp, daphnia, and micro worms. They will also accept high-quality flake foods and micro pellets designed for small freshwater fish.
Tank Mates: Ideal tank mates include other peaceful small fish such as small tetras, rasboras, and dwarf corydoras. Avoid larger or aggressive species that may bully or eat the Lampeye. Shrimp and snails can also coexist peacefully with Normans Lampeye Killifish.
Aggression: This species is known for its peaceful demeanor and is rarely aggressive towards tank mates. Males may display mild territorial behavior during breeding but generally coexist well in a community setting.
