Description

Paradise Fish Macropodus Opercularis 4cm

Overview: The Paradise Fish, revered for its vibrant colors and graceful fins, captivates aquarists with its beauty and unique behavior. Originating from East Asia, these labyrinth fish bring an exotic charm to any aquarium.

Origin: Found in slow-moving waters across China, Taiwan, and Vietnam, Paradise Fish thrive in shallow, vegetated areas and rice paddies.

Feeding: Omnivorous by nature, they enjoy a diverse diet comprising high-quality flake or pellet food supplemented with live or frozen treats like bloodworms, brine shrimp, and daphnia.

Tank Mates: Careful selection is crucial due to their territorial nature. Compatible tank mates include peaceful species like danios, rasboras, and certain types of catfish. Avoid housing them with fish that resemble their appearance or those known for aggressive tendencies.

Aggression: Paradise Fish exhibit moderate to high aggression, especially among males. Providing ample hiding spots and dividing the tank using plants or decorations can help manage aggression.

Experience Level: Ideal for aquarists with moderate experience due to their territorial behavior and specific care requirements. Attention to tank setup and compatibility is necessary for successful keeping.

Water Parameters: Maintain water temperature between 72-82°F (22-28°C) and a pH level of 6.0-8.0. They tolerate a wide range of water hardness but prefer slightly acidic to neutral water conditions.
