Overview: The Peacock Goby, also known as the Tateurndina Ocellicauda, is a striking and peaceful freshwater fish renowned for its vibrant colors and captivating behavior. Originating from the streams and rivers of Papua New Guinea, these small but stunning fish make an excellent addition to community tanks.

Origin: Indigenous to Papua New Guinea’s waterways, these gobies are typically found in slow-moving, well-vegetated areas, showcasing their preference for planted tank setups.

Feeding: Peacock Gobies are omnivores and thrive on a varied diet. They eagerly accept high-quality flake food, pellets, live, or frozen fare such as bloodworms, brine shrimp, and small insects.

Tank Mates: They are generally peaceful and can coexist with similarly sized, non-aggressive tank mates. Ideal companions include small tetras, rasboras, peaceful dwarf cichlids, and other gentle community fish. Ensure the tank mates won’t outcompete them for food.

Aggression: Typically, Peacock Gobies are peaceful and non-aggressive, especially when provided with adequate hiding places among plants or rocks. However, they may display territorial behavior during breeding.

Experience Level: Suitable for aquarists of various experience levels, these gobies are relatively hardy and easy to care for. Basic understanding of aquarium maintenance and water parameters is recommended.

Water Parameters: Peacock Gobies prefer slightly acidic to neutral water conditions with temperatures ranging from 72-78°F (22-26°C). A pH level of 6.5-7.5 and moderately soft to medium hardness (5-12 dGH) is optimal for their health and well-being.
