Ramshorn Snail Planorbidae 2cm

Overview: The Ramshorn Snail, belonging to the Planorbidae family, is a freshwater gastropod known for its distinctive spiral-shaped shell, resembling a ram’s horn. These snails are popular in aquariums for their unique appearance and beneficial algae-eating habits.

Origin: Native to various regions globally, Ramshorn Snails thrive in freshwater habitats, including ponds, rivers, and slow-moving streams.

Feeding: These snails are primarily algae grazers, contributing to a balanced aquarium ecosystem by consuming algae and decaying plant matter. Supplement their diet with blanched vegetables like zucchini or spinach.

Tank Mates: Peaceful and non-aggressive, Ramshorn Snails are compatible with most community fish, shrimp, and other peaceful invertebrates. However, avoid housing them with aggressive or large species that may harm or consume them.

Aggression: Ramshorn Snails are non-aggressive and generally peaceful tank inhabitants, making them suitable for community tanks and planted setups.

Experience Level: Beginner-friendly, Ramshorn Snails are easy to care for and adapt well to various water conditions, making them suitable for aquarists of all experience levels.

Water Parameters: These snails prefer stable water conditions with a neutral pH around 7.0, temperatures between 65-82°F (18-28°C), and moderate hardness. Regular water changes help maintain optimal conditions for their health.
