Overview: The Red Eye Tetra, also known as Moenkhausia Sanctaefilomenae, is a stunning freshwater fish highly sought after for its striking red eyes and shimmering silver body. Its peaceful demeanor and schooling nature make it a delightful addition to community aquariums.

Origin: Originating from South America, specifically the Amazon River basin and its tributaries, these tetras thrive in soft, acidic waters among densely vegetated areas.

Feeding: Red Eye Tetras are omnivorous and accept a varied diet. They eagerly consume flake food, pellets, and live or frozen fare like bloodworms and brine shrimp. A balanced diet ensures their vibrant coloration and overall health.

Tank Mates: Their peaceful disposition makes them ideal tank mates for other peaceful community fish like other tetra species, rasboras, dwarf cichlids, and peaceful catfish. Avoid aggressive or larger fish that might intimidate them.

Aggression: These tetras are non-aggressive and typically display no territorial behavior, making them an excellent choice for community aquariums.

Experience Level: Suitable for aquarists of various experience levels, the Red Eye Tetra is fairly hardy and can adapt well to stable water conditions.
