Sailfin Tang Long Fin Zebrasoma Velifer
The Sailfin Tang, also known as the Velifer Tang or Zebrasoma velifer, is a vibrant and popular marine aquarium fish. It is native to the Indo-Pacific region, found in shallow coral reef environments. The Sailfin Tang is bright yellow in color, with a distinctive elongated dorsal fin that resembles a sail. As adults, they can grow up to 20 cm in length. They are primarily herbivorous, feeding on benthic algae and marine plants in the wild. In captivity, they should be provided with a varied diet of high-quality algae-based foods. Sailfin Tangs are generally peaceful fish, but can be territorial and aggressive towards other tangs or surgeonfish. They are best kept with other peaceful, non-aggressive tank mates. Proper aquarium size and water parameters are crucial for their well-being, as they require a minimum tank size of 180 gallons with excellent water quality and strong water movement. Sailfin Tangs are recommended for experienced marine aquarium hobbyists, as they can be challenging to care for and are prone to certain diseases, such as marine ich. With the right setup and care, however, they can thrive and add a vibrant splash of color to any reef aquarium.

We operate a UK wide next day delivery service available through DX overnight, a DEFRA registered courier. All our fish are packed in double thickness bags for safety and filled with pure oxygen. The bags are then wrapped in a foil blanket with heat packs to keep them warm. They are then packed in a large polystyrene box with a cardboard outer. All our fish are booked with the courier as “live fish” and travel in security cages throughout their journey. All fish are only in the box for a maximum of 18 hours which is our service level agreement with the courier. Your delivery date will be communicated to you via email within 24 hours of purchase and your tracking information will be sent to you directly via email by DX the evening before your scheduled delivery date. Please contact us if you would like to change your delivery date to a more convenient time. Deliveries are made on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday every week. We will always try our very best to get your order to you as quickly and as safely as possible.
