Splendid Gramma Dottyback Manonichthys Splendens
The Splendid Dottyback, Manonichthys splendens, is a vibrant and eye-catching marine aquarium fish. Originating from the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, and Western Indian Ocean, this species grows up to 7cm (2.8 inches) in length. The Splendid Dottyback has a slender, elongated body with a velvety black coloration accented by neon blue stripes on its head. It is considered a peaceful dottyback species, though it can be territorial and should be kept with larger, robust tank mates. This fish does best in a well-established reef aquarium with plenty of hiding places. In terms of feeding, the Splendid Dottyback is an omnivore that will accept a varied diet of meaty foods, algae, and marine plant matter. Maintaining good water quality with stable parameters is crucial, as this species requires a pH of 8.1-8.4, temperature of 72-82°F, and specific gravity of 1.020-1.025. Overall, the Splendid Dottyback is a beautiful and rewarding addition to the marine aquarium, but may require some experience to care for properly due to its territorial nature. It has been successfully bred in captivity, making captive-bred specimens a good choice for hobbyists.

We operate a UK wide next day delivery service available through DX overnight, a DEFRA registered courier. All our fish are packed in double thickness bags for safety and filled with pure oxygen. The bags are then wrapped in a foil blanket with heat packs to keep them warm. They are then packed in a large polystyrene box with a cardboard outer. All our fish are booked with the courier as “live fish” and travel in security cages throughout their journey. All fish are only in the box for a maximum of 18 hours which is our service level agreement with the courier. Your delivery date will be communicated to you via email within 24 hours of purchase and your tracking information will be sent to you directly via email by DX the evening before your scheduled delivery date. Please contact us if you would like to change your delivery date to a more convenient time. Deliveries are made on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday every week. We will always try our very best to get your order to you as quickly and as safely as possible.
