Overview: The Violet Line Geryi Piranha, known for its striking violet-hued lateral line, captivates aquarists with its intense coloration and characteristic piranha traits. Originating from the Amazon Basin, this species showcases both beauty and ferocity.
Origin: Found in the blackwater tributaries of the Amazon, the S. geryi thrives in warm, acidic waters amidst dense vegetation.
Feeding: An obligate carnivore, it thrives on a diet of meaty foods like small fish, shrimp, and occasionally, frozen prey. Their predatory nature makes feeding sessions a spectacle.
Tank Mates: Best kept solitary or in a species-specific setup due to their aggressive temperament. Compatible tank mates are limited to those of similar size and temperament.
Aggression: Known for their territorial behavior and aggression, these piranhas require ample space and hiding spots to reduce potential conflicts. They can be fiercely defensive of their territory.
Experience Level: Recommended for experienced aquarists well-versed in managing aggressive species. Skilled care is essential to meet their specific needs.
Water Parameters: Requires well-maintained water with temperatures around 75-82°F (24-28°C), pH ranging from 5.5 to 7.0, and soft to moderately hard water.

We operate a UK wide next day delivery service available through DX overnight, a DEFRA registered courier. All our fish are packed in double thickness bags for safety and filled with pure oxygen. The bags are then wrapped in a foil blanket with heat packs to keep them warm. They are then packed in a large polystyrene box with a cardboard outer. All our fish are booked with the courier as “live fish” and travel in security cages throughout their journey. All fish are only in the box for a maximum of 18 hours which is our service level agreement with the courier. Your delivery date will be communicated to you via email within 24 hours of purchase and your tracking information will be sent to you directly via email by DX the evening before your scheduled delivery date. Please contact us if you would like to change your delivery date to a more convenient time. Deliveries are made on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday every week. We will always try our very best to get your order to you as quickly and as safely as possible.
