Yellow Boxing Shrimp Stenopus Cyanoscelis
The Yellow Boxing Shrimp, scientifically known as Stenopus cyanoscelis, is a rare and unique shrimp species not often seen in the aquarium hobby. Originating from the Indo-West Pacific region, this shrimp has a distinctive yellow coloration with blue legs. Growing up to 1.5 inches in size, the Yellow Boxing Shrimp is an omnivore that will scavenge for leftover food and also hunt and eat bristle worms. This shrimp is considered semi-aggressive, mainly towards other coral banded shrimp, but peaceful with most other tank inhabitants. It requires a minimum tank size of 5 gallons, making it a suitable addition to nano reef or fish-only aquariums. The Yellow Boxing Shrimp is considered coral and invertebrate safe .Being a nocturnal species, the Yellow Boxing Shrimp will be most active at night, hiding in cracks and caves during the day. It can lose and regenerate its large pincher arms, so care should be taken when handling it, such as using a small cup instead of a net. The Yellow Boxing Shrimp is recommended for beginner aquarists, as it has relatively simple care requirements. It should be provided with sufficient hiding places and fed a varied diet of meaty foods like clam, fish, and shrimp flesh, as well as live adult brine shrimp. Proper acclimation is crucial due to the shrimp’s sensitivity to changes in water parameters
