Overview:
The European Bitterling is a charming freshwater fish known for its vibrant colors and unique breeding behavior. These small, peaceful fish make an excellent addition to community tanks and are ideal for both beginner and experienced aquarists.

Origin:
Native to rivers and lakes across Europe and Asia, the European Bitterling thrives in shallow waters, particularly in areas with abundant vegetation and soft substrates.

Feeding:
European Bitterlings are omnivorous, thriving on a varied diet of high-quality flakes, pellets, frozen foods (such as brine shrimp and daphnia), and vegetable matter. They enjoy occasional treats of blanched spinach or zucchini.

Tank Mates:
These fish are best kept in community tanks with other peaceful species. Ideal tank mates include guppies, tetras, and other small to medium-sized fish. Avoid larger or more aggressive fish that may intimidate them.

Aggression:
European Bitterlings are generally peaceful but can display territorial behavior, especially during breeding. Keeping them in groups can help minimize any aggression.

Suitable for all experience levels, these fish are easy to care for and adapt well to various tank conditions.

Water Parameters:
Temperature: 18-24°C (64-75°F)
pH: 6.5-8.0
Hardness: 5-20 dGH
Tank Size: Minimum 20 gallons for a small group

Enhance your aquarium with the lively presence of the European Bitterling, a delightful species that brings color and movement to any setup!
