Freshwater Black Diamond x P14 Pearl Hybrid Stingray Potamotrygon Sp 20cm

Overview: The Freshwater Black Diamond x P14 Pearl Hybrid Stingray is a stunning and rare hybrid that combines the majestic beauty of both Black Diamond and P14 Pearl Stingrays. This unique hybrid showcases a mesmerizing pattern and coloration, making it a prized addition to any freshwater aquarium. With its gentle gliding movement and distinctive appearance, this stingray captivates both seasoned aquarists and newcomers alike.

Origin: The Black Diamond x P14 Pearl Hybrid Stingray is bred in captivity through selective breeding between the Black Diamond Stingray and the P14 Pearl Stingray. This hybridization process aims to produce individuals that exhibit the best characteristics of both parent species. Originally, both parent species are native to the river basins of South America, thriving in freshwater environments.

Feeding: This hybrid stingray prefers a diet rich in protein. Offer a variety of foods such as bloodworms, earthworms, shrimp, and pieces of fish. Feeding should be done carefully to ensure the stingray receives adequate nutrition without overfeeding. A well-balanced diet contributes to their health and vibrant appearance.

Tank Mates: When selecting tank mates, opt for peaceful and similarly sized fish to prevent any potential aggression. Smaller fish may be seen as prey. Suitable companions include larger characins, peaceful cichlids, and catfish. Avoid aggressive species that might stress or harm the stingray.

Aggression: The Black Diamond x P14 Pearl Hybrid Stingray exhibits a peaceful temperament towards most tank mates. However, due to its size and feeding habits, it may inadvertently pose a threat to smaller fish. It’s crucial to monitor interactions in the aquarium to ensure a harmonious environment.

Experience Level: Due to their specific care requirements, this hybrid stingray is best suited for intermediate to advanced aquarists. Proper knowledge of diet, tank conditions, and health management is essential to keep these exotic creatures thriving.

Water Parameters:

Regular water changes and monitoring of water quality are vital to maintain the optimal conditions for your stingray. Provide a spacious tank with a soft sandy bottom to mimic their natural habitat and allow for comfortable burrowing.
