“Red Rili Shrimp (Neocaridina davidi var. ‘Red Rili’) are captivating freshwater invertebrates prized for their striking appearance and ease of care. Originating from Taiwan, these shrimp boast a unique pattern with vivid red accents against a translucent body, adding vibrant color to any aquarium.
Feeding on a diet primarily composed of algae, they also enjoy occasional treats like blanched vegetables, algae wafers, and specialized shrimp pellets. Their small size and peaceful nature make them ideal tank inhabitants, thriving in planted tanks with ample hiding spots.
Compatible with peaceful fish species like small tetras, rasboras, and non-aggressive dwarf shrimp, Red Rili Shrimp should not be housed with large or aggressive fish that may prey on them.
These shrimp are relatively easy to care for, making them suitable for beginners. A well-established aquarium with stable water parameters is crucial—maintain temperatures between 65-80°F (18-26°C), pH levels around 6.5-7.5, and moderately hard water with good filtration.

We operate a UK wide next day delivery service available through DX overnight, a DEFRA registered courier. All our fish are packed in double thickness bags for safety and filled with pure oxygen. The bags are then wrapped in a foil blanket with heat packs to keep them warm. They are then packed in a large polystyrene box with a cardboard outer. All our fish are booked with the courier as “live fish” and travel in security cages throughout their journey. All fish are only in the box for a maximum of 18 hours which is our service level agreement with the courier. Your delivery date will be communicated to you via email within 24 hours of purchase and your tracking information will be sent to you directly via email by DX the evening before your scheduled delivery date. Please contact us if you would like to change your delivery date to a more convenient time. Deliveries are made on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday every week. We will always try our very best to get your order to you as quickly and as safely as possible.
