Utsurimono Butterfly Grade A Koi Carp (Cyprinus carpio)

Overview:
The Utsurimono Butterfly Grade A Koi is a striking ornamental koi featuring bold black patterns over a vibrant base color of red, white, or yellow, enhanced by long, flowing butterfly fins. Its dramatic coloration and elegant swimming style make it a standout addition to any premium pond.

Origin:
Originating from Japan, the Utsurimono variety is known for its high-contrast color patterns. This Grade A butterfly specimen has been selectively bred for excellent pattern clarity, balance, and refined finnage.

Feeding:
Omnivorous. Feed high-quality, color-enhancing koi pellets as a staple, supplemented with vegetables, shrimp, or seasonal treats. Feed 1–2 times daily during warmer months.

Tank / Pond Mates:
Peaceful and social. Best kept with other koi or calm, similarly sized pond fish such as goldfish.

Temperament / Aggression:
Very peaceful and non-aggressive, ideal for mixed koi ponds.

Experience Level:
Beginner to advanced. Hardy and adaptable, though optimal water quality, filtration, and sufficient pond space are essential for maintaining Grade A condition.

  • Temperature: 10–25°C (50–77°F)

  • pH: 6.5–8.5

  • Water Type: Freshwater
